Noosphere’s First Online Chess Tournament

Association Noosphere cultivates sports activities even in conditions of self-isolation. On May 23, we held our first online Noosphere Chess IT Cup. The tournament was held on the lichess.org platform and brought together logic game enthusiasts from all over Ukraine. 30 participants competed for the title of the best chess player.

Noosphere Joins NASA Global Virtual Hackathon Dedicated to Coronavirus Impacts

On May 30-31, NASA jointly with ESA , JAXA, CSA and CNES organized a global virtual hackathon – NASA Space Apps COVID-19 Challenge. The hackathon aimed at addressing issues caused by the coronavirus pandemic. Noosphere, as a regular local organizer of NASA Space Apps Challenge since 2017, also joined the virtual edition of the hackathon dedicated to the effects of the pandemic.

Hurray! Winners in the Noosphere Space Art Challenge Have Been Determined

From March 1 to May 15, Noosphere held an all-Ukrainian children’s drawing competition with the theme “Flight to the Moon and Beyond”. Children and teenagers aged 3 to 17 from all over Ukraine took part in the competition.

Blood Donation to Fight the Pandemic: Conversation with DonorUA, a Vernadsky Challenge Finalist

The issue of donation becomes especially vital, as quarantine measures have limited the ability to donate blood. We interviewed Iryna Slavinska, a 2015 Vernadsky Challenge finalist, Public Health Center of Ukraine worker and founder of DonorUA – a Ukrainian blood donor registry which monitors the current state of blood donations in Ukraine and the impact coronavirus pandemic has had on donation.
