Noosphere BE-IN: celebrating Ukraine’s 30 Independence anniversary

Noosphere celebrated the 30th anniversary of Ukraine’s Independence on a grand scale, technologically and diversely.

A record-setting rocketry event launched the celebration on August 22nd. The Noosphere festivities continued for the next two days on the embankment in the city of Dnipro. 

All-Ukrainian record in rocketry

Together, the Noosphere team and the Spacemodelling Sports Federation of Ukraine set an all-Ukrainian record in rocketry for the largest synchronous launch of model rockets on August 22 at Kamianka airfield, Dnipropetrovsk region. 

Rocketeers from five Ukrainian regions worked to prepare the model rockets filled with non-toxic yellow and blue holi paints.

447 of 500 rockets successfully soared into the sky in a nearly synchronous performance. The display set a new record, officially recorded by the National Register of Records of Ukraine .

Festivities on the embankment in Dnipro 

The festivities continued at the Festival Pier in Dnipro from August 23 to 24. Events included master classes in robotics and spacemodelling, a children’s coloring contest, a high-speed space puzzle assembly, and much more.

One of the focal activities was the “Hands of the Independents” art initiative. Attendees born in 1991, the year of independence, were invited to leave a handprint in the colors of the national flag on a rocket sculpture. The commemorative rocket sculpture will be part of the Noosphere Art Rocket Park exhibition in Dnipro’s Gagarin Park.

Overall, more than 2,000 people participated in the Noospherian festive events!

In addition, the representatives of the National Register of Records of Ukraine recognized the Noosphere rocketry record as the most impressive of all for the celebratory days.
