The Noosphere Tech Intensive has ended. The program is a free summer school for teenagers from Dnipro and the surrounding region, organized by the Noosphere Association, together with the Dnipro Youth Academy of Sciences and Planetarium Noosphere.
Children aged 14-16 were invited to participate, with 30 participants selected from among those with the best motivational letters. Teenagers from Dnipro, Kamianske, and Kryvyi Rih all became students of the Intensive, where they enjoyed many competitions, Olympiads, and other achievements.
Over the course of the month, schoolchildren took lessons covering the basics of various technical disciplines at the Noosphere Engineering School Dnipro laboratory. First, they became acquainted with robotics. Under the guidance of an experienced mentor, Tetyana Kovaleva, the children even assembled and programmed a robot based on the VEX IQ constructor.
The second module covered the basics of cyber security. Pavlo Merzlykin, a teacher at the Dnipro Youth Academy of Sciences, gave a theoretical lecture on cyber threats. After that, the students applied their knowledge and tried to protect computers from an external attack in practice.
After that, they attended a rocket modeling workshop. An experienced mentor, Serhiy Mitrokhov, taught the teenagers how to design air rocket models. The children then launched their own model rockets into the air, competing to see whose would fly the furthest. The record set was more than 50 meters!
The final lesson was devoted to the study of astronomy. Lyudmila Marchenko, the legendary popularizer of science and an astronomer with fifty years of experience, told children about financial opportunities in the space industry, how space technologies make it possible to make a profit here on Earth, and why modern entrepreneurs cannot do without the achievements of astronomy.
The summer school ended on August 30 at Planetarium Noosphere. All Noosphere Tech Intensive graduates received certificates and gifts. The Planetarium also organized an educational program for young minds with a tour and a session in the Star Hall.
Noosphere Tech Intensive is an opportunity for children to discover something new for themselves, meet with talented peers, and make the most of the month of summer. We believe that Ukraine’s future technological elite are among the participants, who in a few years will develop our country and represent it at the world level.
