If space exploration and space technologies pique your interest, have we got a cracking good season for you! It seems that all space enthusiasts will be quite busy this autumn whether tracking industry news, participating in space hackathons or joining different celebrations.

Here is the list of TOP events for every preference.

NASA Space Apps Challenge 2020 or Space Apps is an annual hackathon led by NASA. The global event attracts more and more participants in different countries each year. Space Apps engages thousands of space enthusiasts in developing innovative solutions, with a particular focus on using NASA data and promoting education, all in a 48-hour sprint. This year, the event will be held on October 2-4 and due to the COVID-19 pandemic, it will be completely virtual. For the fourth year in a row, Noosphere is responsible for the local NASA Space Apps Challenge in Dnipro, Ukraine. As always, the Dnipro event promises to be the largest in Ukraine.

Our stalwart Firefly Aerospace, an aerospace company that develops small and medium launch vehicles, will conduct its first launch this autumn. Their two-stage rocket Alpha is almost ready to get off the ground. After final testing and certification, Alpha will perform a test flight in October or November from Vandenberg Air Force Base, California, USA. During this test flight, the rocket will carry numerous small educational payloads that are part of Firefly’s Dedicated Research and Education Accelerator Mission (or DREAM). DREAM’s payloads will shoot to space at no cost. Ukrainian childrens’ drawings from the Noosphere Space Art Challenge 2019 will also be hitching a ride.

World Space Week (or WSW) is an annual global celebration that is observed from October 4 to 10. This celebration commemorates two important dates in space history: the launch of Earth’s first human-made satellite, Sputnik 1, on October 4, 1957; and the signing of the Outer Space Treaty on October 10, 1967. WSW is celebrated with over 8,000 events in 96 countries, including school activities, exhibitions, special events at planetaria, and so on. “Space people” around the globe unite to “celebrate science and technology, and their contribution to the betterment of the human condition”. Noosphere hopes to join this year’s celebration with a brand new event. Follow us for details soon!

ActInSpace is an international competition in space innovation, supported by ESA (European Space Agency) and the French space agency CNES (Centre National d’Etudes Spatiales). АctInSpace is a two-day hackathon in which teams work together to invent new space solutions, present them to a distinguished panel of experts, and win prizes. The 2020 edition of ActInSpace, which takes place November 13-14, expects over 5,000 participants in over 90 host cities in more than 50 countries. For the first time, Noosphere will host ActInSpace in Dnipro, Ukraine.
